It is always nice when the government is asking for 30 yrs to Life and the Court sentences your client to time served.

Several years ago I had a conversation with a retired officer in the Air Force.
He convinced me that it is better to be judged and sentenced by military officers as opposed to a common jury and judge.
Military Officers are educated men and women who tend to be principled and who are less likely to give way to the demands of the public. Most of them do what is right and could care less about the consequences.

Oh and I love the Bush regime's response - the sentence may well be time served, but we are going to hold you forever anyway. This is a lawless regime and one day will be held accountable.
